Help edit, expand, and improve the pages of notable women in the outdoor industry and beyond.

Our Mission

Women are missing from Wikipedia. Women only make up somewhere between 9 and 16 percent of the editors who work on the site. This gender imbalance is also present in the entries on Wikipedia. By learning how to edit and add entries—and focusing on notable women in the outdoors—we can help resolve this disparity.

FAQ

• Why women in the outdoors? Because we work and play in the outdoors, and have a deep passion for outdoor rec. Plus, the outdoor industry is historically male-dominated, and we see a real need to amplify female voices within it.
• Are only women allowed to join? No! Everyone who wants to help is welcome to attend.
• Do I need experience? No! We will teach you everything you need to know when you come to one of our editathons.

What We've Achieved

Here's our running list of women and organizations we're working on editing and adding. Feel free to add your own suggestions at any time by editing the Wiki page itself.
